Dubes Pond - Hooksett, NH

So this pond is actually the reason I decided to start writing this blog. After reading a book that described this and incredible treasure I was incredibly excited to go check it out. The put in is pretty typical, a bit rocky but manageable.  I did find this to be a rather pleasant body of water. There is a fair bit of plant to look at. The pond is rather small so it's difficult to get too far away from the road noise. So now we get to the reason for the blog. The book describe the western portion of the pond which I was eager to investigate. However if you look at my GPS log below, you'll see that I very quickly hit a head. The western portion was so thickly overgrown with lily pads that passage was impossible. It is possible that if I visited in a different season that passage may be possible, but I suspect not. I fear more that in the 8 years between when the book was published to my experience it had just become overgrown. That is why dates of my last adventure will always be included in my reviews. Now back to the review, I found the size of the pond for what there was to see just a poor ratio. A nice body of water, but nothing so special that I would stop here before trying something new first.
