You have park just off the main road, there's a place with a couple parking spots. We carried the boats just a few feet down next to the bridge which splits the body of water. I chose to go south because I like the looks of the tall grass in that direction. Within moments of launching we were greeted by a majestic NH mountain in the distance, Ragged Mountain Ski Area to be precise. I like the serenity and solitude of areas like this and the bog offered a lot. We paddled quietly through the tall grass ensuring that we stuck with the main water path. I suspect the few offshoots would have lead to very quick dead ends. Being a bog the water was very quiet and smooth. Several birds nested in this area and were a pleasure to watch. The local great heron became annoyed with us as our path seemed to follow his. Bad for him, good for my photography habit.
This is not an exceptionally long or intense paddle, but great for getting away and relaxing a bit. If you reference the map you will see there is a northern section to this body as well. I only quickly passed under the bridge to take a peek at this side. By this section appeared to be much more open and we were starting to succumb to the intense July sun and opted not to investigate further.
