Hubbard Pond - Rindge, NH

Something a little different for this one, I've never been to Hubbard Pond. However, my buddy Jim was kind enough to do a review. So we're going to trust his opinion and if I ever make it out there we'll make sure he's not messing with us. If nothing else he made me realize that I should be giving links to my Garmin logs for you folks.

Hubbard pond was accessed from a small dirt road that could be hard to spot. It is close to Cathedral of the Pines. Once down the dirt road there is an ample area to put the kayaks in the water and park. There was a small dam next to the parking and an easy slope for entry. There was little to no sign of civilization. There's lots of nooks and crannies to explore which makes the pond have an intimate feel when in the inlets. There is a camp with docks and lots of kayaks/canoes, but in early spring no one was at the camp. At certain points in the pond, there is a beautiful view of Mt. Monadnock. This pond could get overgrown, especially by the put in, during the summer. This trip would be best in the spring or fall when vegetation would be less. Great trip and great views.
