Cannobie Lake - Salem, NH

This is not the lake to go too if you're looking for views. The lake is developed the majority of the way around. We put in at the Public Works land because there is a small parking area, just have to carry your boat a small distance and strategically lower yourself in. There are power boats, so there has to be a ramp somewhere, but I didn't find it. Once in the water it doesn't take too long to get to the far side of the lake and once you're there you're probably going to want to leave pretty quick. On one side you pass by Cannobie Lake Park where there is a pretty consistent clatter from the roller coasters and a murmur from the constant crowds. On the other side you get rather close to Interstate 93. I was actually finding it quite difficult to have a conversation with my girlfriend in this area due to the traffic noise. This is an area water supply, so like Massabesic, no swimming allowed. Spotted a couple water fowl and the norther end was somewhat peaceful with a few nice houses to look at. In short, I would say there is nothing special about this water that would ever bring me back here.

Dates visited: 06/15/13
Put in: N42 48.091 W71 14.739
Motor Boats: Yes
Scenery: 2 Bisons
Serenity: 2 Bisons
Length: Full loop 3.5 mi, could have made it a bit longer.
Rating: 2 Bisons

Addendum 04/04/15: Driving down I-93 the other day I see with the new road construction that a sound barrier is being installed. This could greatly change my critique about the highway noise on this lake.
